in my time, in my time

friday night was amazing. the campus ministry had their farewell party to all the fourth years, and it was so great. i felt so encouraged. it was so great to have a chance to say a few words to everyone leaving and i definitely got emotional. even though i’ve been out doing crazy things over the past 3 years, running around, stumbling around, learning what it is to be a christian, in my studies, late nights, pity parties, selfish frenzies, and everything else, the campus ministry has always been my home and my family. it will definitley be sad to leave it, but i know i’ll still be connected and i know that it’s time for me to move on.

saturday was great and really hot omg. pompadour had it’s last show for the foreseeable future (not to be confused with last show 4 lyfe) at springfest in the amphitheater. what a great last show of the foreseeable future. i couldn’t think of a better place to play. my family came down to see it, and apparently my dad was getting a little emotional. but it meant a lot to me for them to be there. even though my family has deep problems, it always feels so good to be together.

ok this is really cheesey but i jut think these are the most beautiful lyrics and i just have to post them here. i feel like i quoted part of this for my senior year book.

Fare you well, my honey, fare you well my only true one.
All the birds that were singing are flown, except you alone.

Im Going to leave this brokedown palace,
On my hands and my knees, I will roll, roll, roll.
Make myself a bed by the waterside,
In my time,in my time, I will roll, roll, roll.

In a bed, in a bed, by the waterside I will lay my head.
Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul.

River going to take me, sing sweet and sleepy,
sing me sweet and sleepy all the way back home.
It’s a far gone lullaby, sung many years ago.
Mama, mama many worlds I’ve come since I first left home.

Goin’ home, goin’ home, by the waterside I will rest my bones,
Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul.

Going to plant a weeping willow,
By the bank’s green edge it will grow, grow, grow.
Sing a lullaby beside the water,
Lovers come and go, the river roll, roll, roll.

Fare you well, fare you well, I love you more than words can tell,
Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul.

brokedown palace by grateful dead haha. i’m fairly certain it was my quote in my high school year book. how fittingly rebellious and depressing for high school.
